About This Project
This project was really fun, challenging, absolutely one of the most wonderful locations that I have ever worked at, and in the end, it came out really fantastic!
Watching the bass that routinely exceeded 5# and tilapia and bluegill in the 2# plus catagory was quite a treat. Trying to work instead of fish, well that was another story.
Our three-man crew is quite adept at building just about anything that is given them, from decking, bulkheading, and bridges, to homes, underground utilities, and even painting, sheetrocking and architectural trimming.

The finished project is somewhat unique in its roof structure, which is purposely open to enable air movement and the installation of some of the largest ceiling fans made for private use.
Two (84″ & 60″) diameter BigAss fans will be installed overhead set into the open architectural structure that will utilize these two larger-than-normal cfm fans, and enable a large amount of airflow as a result, keeping the structure cool on those 100 degree plus Texas summer days.
Only two lateral beam 6×6 timber V-Braces were utilized in this roof design, so air can easily move up and out of the vented roof, or down and around the fan-cooled covered deck. There is almost 11 feet of open structure above the deck as a result.
This also makes the structure unique-looking and quite beautiful.
The rails and lighting package will go in next week, to see the proposed design, look at the drawing.
The perimeter will feature LED lit chair-back bench seating which will double as safety railing for little ones, and also a third indirect lighting system that will reflect off of the white painted under-surface of the Galvalume metal roofing should provide a non-light-polluting alternative to direct floodlighting.
This makes for a nice overhead glow without a single bulb showing or shining in someone’s face or eyes. Walk out from underneath and look up at God’s lighting system… now THAT is the real treat~!
All lighting systems will be LED based with rheostat/dimmer switching – to adjust the particular mood or utility… except of course…. 🙂
