And this is what it looks like to finally seat the 28 feet long swing arm in place. Then it will be bolted, and double bolstered with another set of 3×8 timbers, and a new 4′ x 4′ jumping platform will be built, 3 feet above the deck, to allow clearance when they swing out from the boathouse. It is so large and sticks out so far that a high platform is required to keep from hitting the water during the swing.

We test each situation and this one – the platform is ending up 6.5 feet above the water. It will also allow a nice diving platform, since the water is 8 feet deep at the end of the swing’s travel. This is one fun swing~! But of course we build these all the time, they are another of our signature options.
